Mallow_AC1F.A.Q’s for the 2022 race

When is the race on?
The COOP Superstore Mallow 10 Mile Road Race will be held on Sunday March 20th 2022.

What time does it start?
The race will start at 12.30 pm sharp.

How to enter

Can I enter by post?

How much is the race entry fee?
Please note that entries will close when 2000 entries have been received.

Can I enter on the day?
No, there will be absolutely no entries taken on the day of the race.

Is there elite entry after the closing date?
We have reserved places for elite entries with recent 10 mile times of sub 56 for men and sub 61 for women. Contact Peadar Lucey at poluasa@gmail.com or ring 0861713755.

Note if you have demonstrated the following times in other distances we will also accept.

Male 5k = 16:00
Male 10k = 33:00
Male Half marathon = 1:14:30

Female 5k = 17:30
Female 10k = 36:30
Female Half marathon = 1:21:30

Where are the race headquarters?
Unfortunately due to Covid we are not in a position to offer these facilities this year.

When will I get my number?
All entries have been posted, this number is allocated to you and is non transferrable.

What must I do with the chip?
Your chip will be attached to your race number. Do not bend or try to fold your number as this could damage your chip and you will not receive a time for your race.

Should I wear my number on the front or the back?
Your race number should always be worn on the front, on your singlet/t-shirt, not on your shorts. This will facilitate the reading of the chip at the finish line thus giving you an accurate time.

Can I transfer my number if I can’t run on the day?

Are there showers/refreshments after the race?
Unfortunately due to Covid we are not in a position to offer these facilities this year

Can I wear an IPod/Mp3 player?
We do not allow runners to use I-pods or Mp3 players due to safety reasons. If this occurs you will be denied entry in the future.

Are there toilets by the start?

Does this race have an A.A.I. permit?
Yes this race does have an A.A.I. permit.

What are the prizes for the race?
The prize fund for this race is €4,000. Please refer to prize list.

Prize Giving:
Prize giving for the top 3 ladies and men will take place at the finish line. All other individual and category prizes will be sent by post after the event.
