The Mallow 10 mile road race is one of the largest 10 mile races in Munster. Organised by Mallow Athletic Club, it is usually held in mid to late March every year.
The race has an Athletic Ireland permit and has been accurately measured by Jones Counter. Located between the cities of Cork and Limerick, it is centrally located for many runners.
From very modest numbers back near the turn of the century, the race has grown most years with the odd issue with icy roads when it was held in early January. Since the club moved the date to the milder month of March, we haven’t looked back with a huge surge in numbers. After a 45% jump in 2012, the club had to restrict numbers so that the event could grow at a more manageable level.
Entries usually open in early December and all of the entries sell out in a few weeks.
We would encourage anyone who wishes to take part in the race to enter as early as possible.
